JAMMU, Sept 11: The protest dharna of Jammu Kashmir Female Multipurpose Health Workers in support of their demands entered 16th day today.
Led by Sushil Sudan, president, JKMEF, and Neelam Kumari, president, FMPHWs’ Welfare Association, employees staged protest at Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Jammu.
They raised slogans against Government for not fulfilling their long pending demands including permanent solution of salary head 2211, release of pending salaries, delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), release of pending salary since March 2018, fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of Health Sector, up gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophth Tech.
They also demanded creation of post of LHVs in new PHCs, publication of seniority list of FMPHWs in the official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions, 50% quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators and amendment of SRO 20 dated 20-04-1992 which is pending in the administrative department for last 27 years.
The speakers said most of the FMPHWs have withdrawn the personal loan from banks and they are not able to deposit their installment in time due to non release of their salary under head 2211. They said matter had already been discussed with the Advisor of Governor and memorandum submitted to Commissioner Secretary to Government Department of Health. Also a deputation of FMPHWs met State BJP president, Ravinder Raina and highlighted the genuine demands of the employees but nothing concrete has been done so far.
They said now the little amount of funds under head 2211 has been released by the Government for drawl of salary of the 2211 head FMPHWs, but the amount of funds are not sufficient to meet the whole year requirement. So the association has decided to continue their strike/dharna till the permanent solution of the salary.
