JAMMU, Oct 21: About 167 passengers and crew on board Air India’s Srinagar flight had a narrow escape as a technical snag in the flight IC-821 was detected before it could take off from Jammu Airport this afternoon.
The flight was grounded and the passengers were immediately de-boarded, SSP Anti-Hijacking, Jammu Airport, Ashok Sharma said.
He said the technical snag was detected well in time as the flight hadn’t taken off yet. However, he added, the passengers had boarded the plane and as soon as the technical snag was detected, they were asked to de-board.
As the plane was grounded due to snag, AI’s flight to Jammu-Srinagar and Srinagar-Jammu-Delhi was cancelled.
The stranded passengers were accommodated here and would be adjusted tomorrow, official sources said.
