Flag-hoisting begins at Ram Temple’s subsidiary shrines

AYODHYA, March 21 : After the flag-hoisting ceremonies at the main spire of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and the Mata Annapurna Temple, preparations have now commenced for hoisting flags at the remaining six subsidiary temples.
Providing this information after a meeting of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, stated here on Saturday that the temples scheduled for flag-hoisting include those dedicated to Lord Surya, Mata Bhagwati, the Shivling, Ganapati, Sheshavatar, and Hanuman Ji.
Champat Rai informed that the flag-hoisting ceremony at the spire of Hanuman Ji’s temple will take place on Hanuman Jayanti (April 2).
He added that the flag-hoisting ceremonies at the other five subsidiary temples will be completed over an eight-day period between March 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, and 31.
Dr. Anil Mishra, a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, clarified that large crowds will not be gathered for the flag-hoisting ceremonies at the subsidiary temples; instead, the flags will be hoisted on the designated dates-following proper rituals and worship-in the presence of a limited number of devotees.
Each flag-hoisting ceremony will be attended by approximately 200 people, comprising about 50 saints, 50 householders, and various engineers and laborers. The flag-hoisting at the main spire was originally scheduled for November 25, 2025, but was subsequently rescheduled to coincide with the Hindi New Year. He further noted that the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Mata Annapurna Temple was performed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on December 31, 2025.
Prior to the meeting, Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, announced that the construction work for the Ram Temple has been completed. The companies engaged in the construction project are set to vacate the Ram Temple complex next month.
Meanwhile, work on constructing the security wall surrounding the Ram Temple is currently underway, and security towers are also being erected. Making an appeal to devotees in view of Ram Navami, Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, advised them to carry a white gamcha (cotton towel) to protect themselves from the sun and to keep sattu (roasted gram flour) with them; he also urged them to avoid potato-based food items, particularly samosas.
