The kind attention of Govt is drawn towards the decision taken by the Govt regarding fixation of fee structure in the private schools falling within the State. Although the members of committee constituted by the Govt for the purpose have met on several occasions and have even invited the public opinion/observations through print media, the final report/recommendations of the Committee is still awaited. Keeping in view the rulings of the Apex Court on the above cited subject vis-a-vis policy of the State Govt and also considering the upcoming admission session in the schools, it is hoped that the referred committee will submit its report to the Govt well before the ensuing admission session so that a rational fee structure for State/CBSE schools operating in the state can be fixed by the Govt and the parents cannot be duped of their hard earned money by the schools by overcharging specially on account of recurring ‘Annual Charges’ etc. It would also be appreciable if instructions be issued to schools by the Govt for charging Transportation fee on Kilometre basis instead of fixed fee as already notified by the Transport Department J&K State.
