Five nabbed with heroin, charas

JAMMU, Apr 18: In separate cases, five drug peddlers were arrested with heroin and charas in city and its outskirts.
According to a police official, a police party from police post Sidhra laid a naka at Tawi bridge and during naka checking intercepted one car bearing registration number HRYL-2685.
He said that on frisking, 10 grams of heroin along with Rs 10,000 cash and a weighing machine was recovered from the possession of the driver of the car namely Mohd Hanief alias Kalu son of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Batra (Sidhra) and his associates namely Sunil Khan alias Fareed son of Noor Hussain, resident of Dwara (Sidhra), Chand Khan son of Bundu Khan, resident of Behat, Saharanpur (UP) and Abdul Shamid alias Shabir son of Jamat Ali, resident of lower Ragoora (Sidhra).
The arrest and recovery was made by Incharge, police post Sidhra, Sub Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday. In this connection, a case FIR No 133/2019 under Sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at police station Nagrota and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team of police station Bus Stand led by SHO, Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia, apprehended a person namely, Arshad Ahmad son of Ghulam Nabi Lone, resident of Kawari, Trehgam (Kupwara) with 50 gram charas at Indira Chowk. The accused was driving a Xylo car bearing registration number JK13A-7343, when the drugs were recovered from him yesterday.
