Five months jail term for rash, negligent driving

Kathua, Nov 28: Judicial Magistrate First Class Billawar, R.K.Tadyal, has awarded five months imprisonment and fine of Rs.2500/ to one Sat Paul S/o Nath R/o Beril tehsil, Billawar facing trail in case of rash and negligent driving.
Brief fact of case is that on 18-02-2013, Billwar Police Station got an information that one Matador bearing Regd.No.JKO8C-5905 which was on way from Ghar Malti to Billawar was being driven in rash and negligent manner and it met with accident at 08:00 am at Bajwal.
Due to accident two pedestrians got injured and also some passengers seated in matador also got injured. All the injured persons were taken to hospital. After accident driver of Matador fled away from the spot against whom FIR No.15/2013 U/S 279/337/338RPC has been filed at P/S Billawar and investigation started. After completion of investigation challan was presented in the Court of JMIC Billwar. After hearing the Prosecuting Officer, Asif Iqbal appearing for State and for accused the court has observed that prosecution proved his case beyond reasonable doubt. The accused is proved to guilty and is liable to be convicted.
