Five injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, July 20: Five persons were injured today in three separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, two persons identified as Ravi Singh (28) son of Balvinder Singh and Sharan Dass (25) son of Omkar Singh, both residents of Greater Kailash were injured when the bike they were travelling on was hit by a truck at Kaluchak area falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station.
The mishap occurred this afternoon and the truck driver fled from the spot along with his vehicle after committing the crime. The injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, for treatment.
Another mishap occurred this afternoon at Batehara area falling under the limits of Kanachak police station, where two persons were injured when the car they were travelling in was hit by an unknown vehicle.
The injured have been identified as Om Prakash (55) son of Mani Ram of Janipur and Sunny (22) son of Ashu Kumar, a resident of Machine Domana. They were rushed to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
A pedestrian was also injured in Miran Sahib area when he was hit by a speeding bike. The injured has been identified as Satveer Singh (40) son of Bhagat Singh, a resident of Simbal Camp. He was also taken to GMCH for treatment.
In all cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
