Five injured in assault

JAMMU, Oct 10: Five persons were injured today in an assault case in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, both the parties involved in the assault have submitted complaint against each other, on the basis of which two counter FIRs have been registered.
He said that as per the complaint of one party, about 11 persons namely Pawan Kumar, Romesh Kumar, Mukesh Kumar son of Suraj Parkash, Rattan Lal son of Munshi Ram, Ravi Kumar and Chhuna both sons of Ram Lal, Deepu son of Madan Lal, Rakesh Kumar, son of Billo, Winkle Devi wife of Romesh, Nitu Devi wife of Mukesh and Veena Devi wife of Suraj, all residents of Mawa, Karora, tehsil Akhnoor this morning entered into the field of Bodh Raj son of Behari Lal of Mawa (Akhnoor), while he was plucking some vegetables, and beat him mercilessly with lathis, fists and blows.
He said that hearing hue and cry of Bodh Raj, his two sisters-in-law including Kamlesh Devi, came to his help but they were also beaten up by the accused people.
While Mukesh Kumar of other party in its complaint alleged that Bodh Raj son of Behari Lal of Mawa (Akhnoor) along with Mantu and Kali today morning crossed over the wall of their house attacked his wife, Ritu Devi, with sharp edged weapon and also attacked on Binkal (wife of Ramesh Chander) with kicks, fists and blows.
