JAMMU, Feb 16: Gujjar Nagar police arrested five gamblers along with Rs 1,800 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gujjar Nagar police post conducted a raid and arrested five persons along with Rs 1,800 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Satish, Javed Ahmed Mir, Wahid Mohammad, Bilal Ahmed and Zahid Ahmed Mir.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered against them at Gujjar Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Gujjar Nagar police post SI Mohammad Rashid made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Pir Mitha police station Inspector Javed Malik, SDPO City Vivek Shekhar Sharma, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
