JAMMU, Feb 1: A total of five persons tried to end their lives by consuming some poisonous substances at separate places in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a youth namely Shakti Kumar (20) son of Girdhari Lal, a resident of Samba and a young girl identified as Bharti (20) daughter of Bua Ditta, a resident of Vijaypur (Samba) allegedly consumed some poisonous substance in an Alto Car bearing registration number JK21-3334 at National Highway in Nagrota area of city outskirts.
Similarly, in separate cases, a youth identified as Rahul Tandon (20) son of Satpal Tandon, a resident of Panjirthi, Sunil Saini (40) son of Ram Parsad Saini of Sanjay Nagar (Digiana) and Nighat (19) daughter of Nazir Ahmed, a resident of Qazikund (Kulgam), presently living in Sidhra area of city outskirts, made abortive bids on their lives by consuming some poisoning substances at their respective residences.
All the five were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where their condition was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
In all cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance of the matter.
