Fisherman’s body recovered from Ujh

KATHUA, Jan 25: The dead body of a fisherman who drowned in river Ujh two days back while catching the fish has been fished out from the river today by police.
He has been identified as Jaswant Raj, S/O Sain Dass of Kot Ponu in Mareen tehsil of Kathua district. He had gone to fishing over two days back along with his two colleagues. But while fishing he had gone deep in the river along the net but drowned in the heavy current of water.
His two colleagues tried their best to trace him but they could not get any clue of him. Later a rescue team was put into service to trace the body who fished out him from the river today. His body was taken to Sub District Hospital, Hiranagar for autopsy by the police. The dead body was later handed over to family for last rites after legal formalities by the police. Raj Bagh police has registered a case in this regard under Section 174 IPC and started investigation.
