NEW DELHI, Sept 23: The National Federation of Fishers Cooperatives Ltd. (FISHCOPFED) – the apex body of fishery cooperatives in the country, organized a conference of Chairmen and Chief Executives of Members Institutions of FISHCOPFED, in the premises of FISHCOPFED Head Office at New Delhi.
The theme of the conference was “Empowerment of Fisheries Cooperatives Under Blue Revolution” in the country. More than sixty leaders/officials of State and District level fishery cooperatives of Member Institutions of FISHCOPHED, officials of FISHCOPFED, NCUI, NCDC participated in the conference.
On special invitation, the delegates of LIC of India, headed by Ashok Soorneedi, Regional Manager (Government Scheme) also participated and was honoured by B K Mishra, MD, in the conference.
The FISHCOPFED has been identified as the nodal agency by the Government of India to implement the “Social Security Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna (SSPMJJBY)” for the fisheries sector.
Soorneedi shared his views with the participants and explained in details the special features of the scheme. He also interacted with members and cleared all the doubts about the scheme.
On this occasion the president FISHCOPFED handed over a cheque to Ashok Soorneedi in the presence of B K Mishra, MD and Chief Executives of Member Institutions of FISHCOPFED for launching the SSPMJJBY.
