JAMMU, Sept 23: Four events namely Quiz, Painting, Photography and Flower Arrangement were held on the fifth day of the ongoing ‘Display Your Talent-2017-18’, being organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, here.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Satnam Kour congratulated and felicitated the winners of the events, while Dr Anil Gupta was the Quiz Master.
In the event, 30 teams participated and the teams which qualified for Finals were from GDC Akhnoor, Department of Zoology, JU, Department of Geography, JU, Department of Political Science, JU and GDC Kathua. In Finals, the team consisting of Kushal Kumar, Harshita Sharma and Neeraj Kumar from GDC Akhnoor stood First, the team of Uzma Latif Kohli, Archana Khajuria and Sushant Sharma from the Deptt. of Zoology, JU stood Second and Naveen Kumar, Tania Sharma and Sonia Sharma from Dept of Geography secured Third Position.
In Painting, the topics given to the candidates were ‘Village Fair, ‘Urban Market and ‘Water Scape’. Nidhi Bhau from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Sonia Slathia from Dept. of History and Tushar Verma from IMFA stood First, Second and Third respectively. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Diksha Andotra from Dept of Lifelong Learning, Aradhana from Dept. of English, JU and Sheetal Sharma from ICCCR & HRM. Suman Gupta, Al Nasir and Reecha Gupta were the adjudicators and Dr. Sanjay Sharma was the Teacher in-charge of the event.
In Photography, the topic was given to the candidates was ‘’Plants and Insects’ in which Deepak Koul from MIET, Rajan Jasrotia from SHTM, JU and Raghu Rai from GGM Science College stood First, Second and Third respectively. The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Abhishek Chowdhary from Dept. of Geography, Mohit Mahajan from ICCCR & HRM, JU and Abhinav Behl from Institute of Music and Fine Arts. Chander Sunder, Arvind Gupta and Vijay Gupta were the adjudicators and Dr. Harish Chander was the teacher in-charge of the event.
In Flower Arrangement, Navneet Kour from KC Law College stood First, Shivika from The Law School, JU and Mohinder from GGM Science College stood Second and Third respectively. Certificate of Merit was awarded to Sarita Devi from GDC, Udhampur. Dr. Raj Kumar, Al Nasir and Dr. Sanjay Sharma were the adjudicators and Dr. Shallu Sharma was the Teacher In-charge of the event.
The event was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor). Manreet, Kanika, Suvidha, Mohit, Anjali, Ramneek, Shivani, Sonika, Payal, Hempreet and Divya managed the events.
