First phase of Institutional Training of Munsiffs concludes

JAMMU, Jan 10: The first phase of the Institutional Training of newly appointed Munsiffs concluded today in the J&K State Judicial Academy.
The 10 days intense training covered  the topics of constitutional vision of justice, judiciary as guardian of rights, minimizing impact of bias, access to justice, quality of a judge, integrity of judicial process, judge in the justice system, role of a judge, judging skills, judge as a social being, communication, information and computer technology, management and courts, structure and classification of courts in J&K, practice and procedures under the Civil Procedure Code, Criminal Procedure Code, J&K Criminal Law Amendment Act, 2013, punishment & sentencing and the duties and responsibilities of Judicial Officers relating to cash and accounts.
The resource persons including Judges of High Court, retired Judges of High Court, former District & Sessions Judges, revenue experts, experts in the field of administration and accounting interacted with the Induction Trainees.
Practical exercises relating to recording the statements of witnesses including examination-in-chief, cross examination and re-examination of witness and practical sessions relating to computerization particularly National Judicial Data Grid were also held in the Judicial Academy.
The practical training of the trainee judges will commence from tomorrow in the District Court Complex Jammu. The Induction Training Course will continue till January 30, 2018. The working sessions of the last three days were chaired by Justice J  P Singh and  Abdul Rashid Malik, Director, J&K State Judicial Academy as well as number of sitting and former District Judges.
