First ever cartoon making workshop for children concludes

JAMMU, Jan 5: First ever cartoon making workshop for children concluded here today at Natrang Studio Theatre with the felicitation of the young participants by Natrang Director Balwant Thakur.
Organised by Natrang Jammu and conducted by eminent Cartoonist Chander Shekhar, this 5 day cartoon making workshop witnessed a new world of innovation and creativity of original thoughts and imagination of children.
Speaking on the occasion, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that we will continue to provide such innovative opportunities for children as they hardly get any outlet for the exploration of their immense inner abilities. In this world of rapidly growing artificial intelligence and menace of the excessive usage of smart phones by younger generations, it becomes our larger responsibility to engage children in the real world of creativity.
On the occasion, he also announced that Winter Theatre Workshop for children will start from January 7 at 3 pm at Natrang Studio Theatre Jammu for ten days in which children will have the rarest occasion to be a part of wholesome package of latest developed techniques of self-development and personality development through the magical art of theatre.
Thakur said that cartoons have always attracted the child’s eye and has been an important part in enhancing a child’s imagination. Cartoons have been seen as ‘humour with a pinch of salt’ that not only is a creative medium to communicate but also a visual semiotics and visual persuasion medium.
He added that in today’s world when majority of children’s time is being eaten up by the smart phones/TVs and they pushing themselves to mental blockades, such participation will certainly help them in coming out of that caged life to a world of innovation and creativity.
The participants who were felicitated included Divyansh Bharti, Divum Bharti, Kartik Rajput, Suhani Gupta, Haryansh Gupta, Medha Gupta, Aaria Zia Sharma, Ojas Kapur, Mannan Soni, Mannat Soni, Samaaira Dewan, Aditri Dewan, Sushant Singh Charak, Vidhi Kapur, Saumya Kapur, Himashi Punia, Nirjara Jain, Sahaja Jain and Aditi Gupta.
