JAMMU, Oct 16: A devastating fire broke out in the general store godown at Ghas Mandi Chowk near Khadika Talab, falling under the jurisdiction of Peer Mitha Police Station.
As per police sources, a fire broke out in the in the general store godown of Rajesh Gupta at Ghas Mandi Chowk near Khadika Talab late tonight.
On getting information, police team from Peer Mitha Police Station led by SHO MA Giri rushed to the spot and two fire tenders along with fire fighters were pressed into service to douse the flames.
After hectic efforts, the fire was brought under control and restricted from spreading to nearby areas.
However, no casualty or injury has been reported in the incident and exact loss could be ascertained after investigation completes.
Fire broke out due to short circuit, but exact reasons could be ascertained after investigation completes.
A case in this regard has been registered at Peer Mitha Police Station and investigation started.
