SRINAGAR, Dec 27: Fire engulfed one of the oldest buildings housing Directorate of Health office late this evening at Old Secretariat here in city’s Shaheed Gunj area.
An official said the fire emerged from the office of Director Health Kashmir and instantly gutted the upper portion of three storey building. The official said the fire tenders immediately arrived at the blaze spot and doused the flames with help of police and paramilitary personnel.
The official said the fire gutted some important medical files but there was no loss of life or injury to anyone.
The Old Secretariat, which was constructed during erstwhile Dogra regime and served as administrative headquarters, housed the offices of various Government departments.
