Fire engulfs Lolab forests

Srinagar, Nov 3: Massive forest fires were today reported from multiple places in the forests of Lolab in North Kashmir
Officials said that the locals from village Warnow Affan during the day saw smoke coming out from a nearby forest area.
After they were alerted, the locals reached the spot to examine the fire and the damage if any. To their utter surprise, they saw a large area of the forest vegetation raised to ashes due to the fire.
From that spot, the fire, as per reports spread to other parts as well.
In another incident, a fire broke out in Forest Compartment 36 and 37 which fall in the upper reaches of Trumakhan forest area in the district.
