SRINAGAR, Feb 28: A hotel, Pine Palace Platinum, was today damaged in a fire that broke out early this morning. However, no loss of life and injury was reported.
A Fire and Emergency Department official said that they received information about the fire outbreak in a hotel Pine Palace Platinum this morning. The fire was doused and those inside were rescued.
The Chief Executive officer Gulmarg, Waseem Raja, said that despite very challenging circumstances, with timely efforts of officials of the fire service department, the fire tenders were not only able to control the fire but minimize the losses as well.
In order to douse the fire more effectively and without delay, two fire tenders were called from Tangmarg/Kunzar as well.
He said that the officials of local civil administration including GDA, Municipality, Jal Shakti remained proactive until the fire was doused completely.
“Further, to ensure compliance to fire safety protocols so that such fire incidents could be avoided, a team of Fire services department and GDA shall undertake fire audit of all hotels and other structures in Gulmarg from tomorrow,” he said.
