Fire breaks out in SMGS Hospital

JAMMU, Nov 14: A minor fire broke out today in biochemistry laboratory of SMGS Hospital, Jammu but was controlled timely.
According to the reports, the fire broke out this morning in computerized biochemistry lab of the hospital, near CMO office.

Noticing the smoke, the panicked staff alerted the administration and informed the nearby Fire Station. The alert staff, security persons and police officials swung into action and prevented the fire from spreading further. Meanwhile, two fire tenders reached the spot and the flames were doused within 20 minutes.
According to Deputy Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, an AC and some minor equipments were damaged in the fire. Nobody was hurt in the fire, he added.
On the reasons of fire, he said that it is difficult to say what cause the fire but prima facie it appears that fire broke out due to short-circuit in AC transformer.
