Fire breaks out in orphanage

SRINAGAR, Nov 13: Fire broke out in a two-storied building housing an orphanage in Chewdara village of Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district today evening.
The inmates, mostly children, putting up in the orphanage, as per the police, have been evacuated safely.
Eyewitness said that the fire emanated from the attic of the two-storey building of the orphanage ‘Apna Ghar’ around 5:30 in the evening. However, the cause of the fire was not known immediately.
After the fire broke out, the fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames down.
A police official said that the inmates have been safely evacuated from the building. He, however, did not divulge the exact number of boarders putting up in the orphanage.
