UDHAMPUR, Apr 26: Police has registered FIR against an unidentified Facebook page user for uploading fake news regarding presence of terrorists near Isckon temple, Udhampur.
SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey said that a case has been registered against ‘Udhampur Dogri’ Link News’- a Facebook page for uploading a fake news , according to which four terrorists were seen near Isckon Temple Udhampur and they opened fire. The news further said that two of these terrorists were arrested by Police while the other two escaped from the spot, the SSP added.
After coming to know about such post, FIR number 169/2020, under section 505/1(b) , 120B IPC & 66 IT Act was registered against the user at Police Station Udhampur.
“Police is tracing out the user of Udhampur Dogri Link News to bring him to face the law for uploading such fake news,” said the SSP and appealed general public of District Udhampur to cooperate for action against those spreading rumors.
