JAMMU, Nov 8: Taking serious note of non-implementation of the directions despite lapse of 12 years, High Court today directed the Director School Education Jammu to regularize the service of the petitioners, who have completed seven years as daily wagers or appear in person.
When the matter was taken up, AAG Ravinder Gupta once again prayed for an adjournment and sought three weeks time to submit compliance report.
After hearing both the sides, Justice Alok Aradhe observed, “this court vide order dated October 4, 2016 had granted three weeks time to submit the compliance report. However, neither compliance report has been filed nor any plausible explanation furnished on behalf of the respondents as to why the compliance report has not been filed”.
“The directions were issued by this court on February 13, 2004 and despite lapse of more than 12 years, the directions have not been complied with till today. This is a matter of serious concern. The tendency of the officers to take the orders of this court in a casual and caviler manner has to be deprecated”, Justice Aradhe said.
“In the interest of justice, two weeks further time is granted to submit the compliance report, failing which Director School Education, Jammu shall remain before this court on the next date of hearing—November 23, 2016”, Justice Aradhe said.
