File compliance or appear in person: DB to Planning Secy

JAMMU,Oct 27: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking establishment of eye-bank, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice BS Walia today granted two weeks time to the Commissioner/ Secretary Planning Department to file compliance of earlier order or appear in person.
In its earlier order, the DB had directed the Commissioner Secretary to Government, Planning and Development Department to ensure release of Rs 3 crore within two weeks for establishment of eye-bank.
When the matter-came up for hearing, Division Bench observed, “compliance has not been filed”. Accordingly, the DB directed Commissioner-Secretary Planning Department to file compliance within two weeks failing which he shall remain present in person.
