Infiltrators from LoC have been severely deterred by the fencing of the border on our side of the line. However, they are in search of finding a chance of sneaking in wherever possible. During heavy snowfall nearly 83 kilometres long fences get damaged or buried under snow and the militants try to make use of these gaps. The Union Home Minister has directed the concerned to have permanent fencing which will withstand the vagaries of weather. An expert team will make on spot survey and report to the Home Ministry. This should be a further step in plugging the loophole in maintaining border security.
