Female Multipurpose Health Workers’ protest dharna enters 46th day

JAMMU, Oct 11: The protest dharna of Jammu Kashmir Female Multipurpose Health Workers in support of their demands entered 46th day, today.
Led by Sushil Sudan, president, JKMEF, and Neelam Kumari, president, FMPHWs’ Welfare Association, the Female Multipurpose Health Workers staged protest in office complex of Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Jammu.
They raised slogans against Government for not fulfilling their long pending demands including permanent solution of salary head 2211, delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of Health Sector, up gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophth Tech.
They also demanded creation of post of LHVs in new PHCs, publication of seniority list of FMPHWs in the official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions, 50% quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators and amendment of SRO 20 dated 20-04-1992 which is pending in the administrative department for last 27 years.
The speakers said that pending salary of Head 2211 employees working under Family Welfare Department is clear upto August 2018 but on the other side employees working under NPS schemes have not been paid till date.
Similar protests were also held in other districts/tehsils viz Sunderbani, Rajouri, Reasi, Banihal, Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda, Bani, Basholi, Padder and Kathua
The protesting FMPHWs appealed Governor SP Malik to intervene into the matter and resolve their demands at the earliest.
