Female Multi-Purpose Health Workers discuss demands

JAMMU, Oct 14: A meeting of Female Multi-Purpose Health Workers was held today in the office of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation under the charimanship of Sushil Sudan, president JKMEF. Vinod Kumar Sharma secretary general JKMEF and Neelam Kumari general secretary, Jammu Kashmir FMPHW, association were also present.
In the meet the leaders of FMPHWs highlighted their smoldering demands. They said that previous assurances given by Director Family Welfare and the Secretary Health and Medical Education Department Dr M K Bhandari were not fulfilled even after the lapse of 6 months and the deadline month of September has already passed and even now there is no sign of any fruitful action from the administration side.
It’s a pity that for the last 20 years we are struggling for salary which is our right, to get in time as all the Female Multi Purpose Workers are working round the clock efficiently and honestly.
It is impressed upon the fact that all the female workers are suffering due to their limits. Some of the members of the Association are suffering from life consuming disease but are not in a position to get treatment in lieu of salary from the last 6-7 months.
The other major demands included permanent solution of Salary Head 2211 in Health and Family Welfare Department and the release of pending salary of more than four to five months, up gradation for the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Techs, X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophthalmic Tech, creation of the post of LHVs in New PHCs, 50% quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators.
Amendment of SRO 20 dated: 20-04-1992 which is pending in the Administrative Department for the last 27 years was also demanded.
Prominent amongst others who attended and addressed the meeting were Rekha Rani, Mamta Sharma, Kamla Devi, Sarso Devi, Jaswinder Kaur , Kamini Devi, Promila Kumar, Savita Kumar, Satya Devi, Sushma Devi, Vandana Devi, Raj Kumar, Soma Devi, Sharda Kumari, Nancy Bhan, Sheela Devi, Nirmal Kaur, Meena Kumari, Parveen Akhter and Lalita Bhan.
