Fearing defeat, PM trying to create rift in SP-BSP-RLD alliance : Mayawati

LUCKNOW, May 5: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to create differences between the SP-BSP-RLD alliance in Uttar Pradesh as he is fearing BJP’s defeat in the Lok Sabha polls.
“PM Modi is trying to divide the SP-BSP to save himself and his reputation. The BJP is losing the election and hence he is trying to create difference,” she said in a statement here, on the eve of the fifth phase polls in the country.
Ms Mayawati said ,” He (PM Modi) is trying to create differences between SP and BSP. His Pratapgarh rally yesterday shows it. Whole country knows that we have not, nor will we have any sort of alliance with the Congress.
She further said ,” Our gathbandhan is a strong gathbandhan. PM Modi is not able to digest it. PM Modi is trying to play divide and rule policy in SP-BSP alliance.”
Her comments come after Mr Modi, during his election rally in Pratapgarh on Saturday, said that there is an alliance between Samajwadi Party and Congress.
Ms Mayawati also clarified that the alliance has left the Amethi and Rae Bareli seats for the Congress leaders to weaken the BJP-RSS forces. The BSP president further clarified that this time the opposition alliance will not only win the Lok Sabha polls and give a new PM but will also remove the BJP government in UP too.
“On May 23, we will get rid of the undemocratic and communal government ,” she said. Ms Mayawati claimed that,”Our grand alliance is getting support from the public, and the people will uproot them (BJP) this time. The BJP is trying to break the coalition by giving fake statements.” (UNI)
