FCS&CA Dept fines traders

JAMMU, Feb 26: Ahead of Mahashivratri festival a surprise market checking was today held by Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department at Tallab Tillo and Bohri areas.
The inspection was held under the supervision of Alka Misra, Assistant Director FCS&CA Department wherein Inspectors of the Department also assisted along with officials of Legal Metrology and Revenue Department.
About 70 shops were inspected for violations like use of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes, not displaying of rate lists, selling sub-standard materials, adulteration etc.
About 21 erring traders were challaned and a fine of Rs. 13,100 was collected from violators.
The Assistant Director, Alka Misra has asked the shopkeepers and other traders to use commercial LPG cylinders for business purpose at food outlets and follow the norms laid by the department.
