JAMMU, Feb 26: Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 16 cattle and arresting six persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted four Kashmir bound vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 16 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested six persons, who were identified as Manzoor Ahmed, son of Gama of Govind Pora Mathra District Ramban, Gori Singh, son of Balwan Singh of Ukhral Tehsil Pogal District Ramban, Altaf Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohd Dang of Danmasta Tehsil Pogal District Ramban, Magar Singh, son of Prem Singh of Banjuni Ukhral District Ramban, Mohd Israil Katoch, son of Mohd Mussa katoch of Danmasta Ukhral Tehsil Pogal District Ramban and Chain Singh, son of Milap Singh of Holang Tehsil Pogal District Ramban.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
