FC Finance reviews works executed in Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian

JAMMU, Dec 27: Financial Commissioner Finance, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, today asked the District Development Commissioners (DDCs) to give focused attention on completion of projects being executed to develop and strengthen network of durable public utilities.
He was speaking in a meeting held to review the district CAPEX budget 2019-20 of districts Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian.
DG Budget, Mohammad Yaqoob Itoo, Director Development Expenditure Division-I, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director Development Expenditure Division-II, Parvaiz Ahmad Kakroo, Joint Director Resources, Shoukat Hussain and other senior officers and officials of Finance department were present in the meeting.
DDC Pulwama, Dr. Raghav Langer, DDC Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin and DDC Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat along with other district level officers of their respective districts participated in the meeting through video conference.
Financial Commissioner sought details from the DDCs about the expenditure registered in their respective districts under CAPEX budget 2019-20 besides taking stock of physical status of projects, current status of projects to be completed in the financial year 2019-20, status of works taken up under Back to Village program, progress on implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes, status of languishing projects being implemented under JK Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation, district credit plans, Aadhar seeding, third party evaluation of completed projects and Administrative Approval of the projects funded under the district plan.
Dr. Mehta asked the officers to adopt an efficient planning before implementing the projects and execute those projects first that have no technical or legal hiccups. He asked them to complete tendering of all the projects before the end of May every year so that satisfactory progress is registered against each of them before the onset of winter. He directed them that bills for completed projects should be cleared within days and any undue delay on part of administrative inertia would be looked into seriously.
Financial Commissioner stressed on making enough kiosks available to public for GST filing and other student related activities. He asked the concerned to accelerate Aadhar seeding under different schemes so that 100 per cent progress is achieved. He also asked them to furnish details of all the vital projects pending due to want of funds so that they are prioritised for funding in future plans.
The DDCs apprised the meeting of the expenditure registered till October, 2019 in their respective districts under the CAPEX budget.
