JAMMU, July 28: The 68 displaced youth who were selected as Accounts Assistants in Finance Department under the PM’s employment package are running from pillar to post for justice as their file is pending in Finance Ministry for final approval for a pretty long time now.
According to the parents of these aggrieved youth 68 displaced candidates were selected as Accounts Assistant in Finance Department under PM’s employment package for migrant youth in 2012 out of 500 candidates who qualified both written test and interview.
But out of them 28 youth who had the degrees from the universities outside the State were asked by Service Selection Board (SSB) to get the bonafide certificates prior to the issuance of formal orders in their favour.
However the appointment orders were issued for 40 other candidates who were the pass outs from the State Government institutions. After the remaining candidates also got their bonafide certificates from the respective universities where from they have qualified their degrees and produced them before the SSB, it wrote a letter to Commissioner Secretary to Government Revenue Department asking it that the necessary action in the matter be taken after fulfilling all the codal formalities as required under rules and only after establishing the recognition status of the institutes and universities, the validity and genuineness of the documents including the bonafide certificates wherever applicable and produced by the selectees from the competent authorities.
But since then the matter is lying pending in Finance Ministry which has not okayed the file. With these 28 students the fate of other 40 selected candidates whose appointment orders have been already issued is hanging in balance as the Principal Accounts Training Institute(ATI) Srinagar is reluctant to grant admission to these 40 candidates with the plea that the institute will admit all the 68 selected candidates for training course together and not in peace meals. With the Ministry not okaying the file of remaining candidates till date the parents as well as the selected candidates are in great distress as some of them who were working in private organizations have left their jobs since and have become totally idle.
Various leaders of KP organizations have expressed serious concern over the delaying tactics of the authorities in this regard and demanded that the orders be issued at an earliest for the remaining candidates.
Expressing their seriousness Kundan Kashmiri president Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) and P L Raina a social activist has urged the Government not to play with the fate of these hapless candidates. They said this shows that Government was not serious about the migrants’ rehabilitation and its all claims have been totally hollow in this regard.
The duo has made an appeal to Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Finance Minister, Haseeb Drabu to clear the file of the hapless candidates as their career has been otherwise put at stake.
