RAMNAGAR, Feb 16: Harping on the golden rule enunciated by Pt Deendayal Ji, ‘last man in the last row’, Ranbir Singh Pathania, spokesperson J & K BJP, concluded a three-day tour of the of Ramnagar while taking a firsthand overview of the public issues related to drinking water, electricity, road connectivity, healthcare and education facilities.
Pathania impressed upon the line officers as well as different departments to ensure maximum presence in far flung and neglected areas of Ramnagar.
These areas have been neglected since a pretty long time due to their tough terrain, rugged topography, lower economic, health and educational levels of the people living over there. He further exhorted the people to maintain better liaison with official machinery and try to get maximum benefits out of public welfare schemes and programmes.
He called upon the officers to keep stationed at their headquarters in the area and keep updated about their movements, if any. He asked them to display, in advance, their movements in various far-flung areas so that people could take maximum benefit out of public utility schemes and programmes.
While pointing the case of Basantgarh where the post of SDM as well as Tehsildar is vacant since long, he called for its fill-in at the earliest so that people do not face undue inconveniences. He further called for connecting of Basantgarh-Khaned road to Macchedi/ Lohai-Malhar in Kathua district and expediting work on Dudu to Kailash road thereby creating an effective road-links for the people of three districts separated from each other by geographical barriers.
Pathania was critical of the Forests Department as well as PWD (R&B) which have stalled work on as many as dozen-odd public utility road projects due to lack of inertia and initiative on their part.
He called for upgradation of P.H.C. Basantgarh and PHC Majalta to full-fledged C.H.Cs. He demanded allopathic dispensaries for Punara, & Chiani. He also demanded immediate establishment of Accidental Hospital at the selected site at Manwal.
Pathania made a fervent appeal for initiating recruitment drives in Basantgarh, Khaned, Ponara, Pachound, Balota, Garh Samna Banj, Jophar and other far-flung areas of Ramnagar and Majalta Tehsil. With a view of coping with the all-pervasive problem of unemployment in the area already stricken by vast terrain, hilly topography, militancy-infested conditions, administrative neglect and acute penury of the people living over there, Police recruitment drives are the need of the hour, he added.
