SAMBA, Jan 29: The residents of the village Namachack sector Ramgarh today staged a strong protest demonstration against the Police Department at Main Chowk, Ramgarh in district Samba.
According to the report, a large number of the family members, relatives and the villagers of the deceased today assembled at Ramgarh Chowk and blocked Vijaypur -Ramgarh road at Main Chowk, Ramgarh for two hours and stopped vehicular movement on both tubes of the road. They raised slogans against the Police Department and alleged that from the very first day when the Parveen Kumar a youth went missing the report had been lodged in the Police Station Ramgarh but it failed to take the cognizance of the same.
They alleged that if the police shown seriousness he would have not died.
The family members of the deceased also appealed the Lt. Governor, GC Murmu to order a probe into the matter.
They also said that on January 27, during the evening time the security forces Jawans were cleaning the bunker, suddenly they saw a dead body lying in the bunker. They immediately informed the police. After getting the information police reached on the spot and took the dead body into its custody and sent to CHC Ramgarh for autopsy. On January 28 the team of doctors conducted the postmortem. Later the body was handed over to its legal heirs for his last rites. The deceased was missing for one month and five days.
After receipt of the information, SHO Police Station, Ramgarh, Chaman Gorkha and Tehsildar Ramgarh reached on the spot and tried to pacify the protesters but they did not agree. After that SDPO Vijaypur, Lov Karan Taneja reached on the spot and pacified the protesters. On the assurance of SDPO, protesters lifted the road and started vehicular movement.
Inspector Chaman Gorkha, SHO Police Station, Ramgarh, told Excelsior that youth’s body was recovered on January 27 who had gone missing last month. The five -member Board of the Doctors has conducted the postmortem. After the post mortem report the cause of the death will be ascertained and if any body was found involved in his death he will not be spared.
