Family goes on hunger strike after land grabbing bid

MENDHAR, Oct 13: A family has gone on hunger strike after its land was allegedly grabbed by members of another family which was thrown out after severely beating by the rivals.
Reports said that one Nikki Mohd Khan, son of Mohd Hussain of Gohlad went to his land along with seven Bihari labourers for cutting grass from the fields. There is about ten kanals of land of this villagers there. When they entered the fields, one Zahid Ali and his family members allegedly attacked them and severely beat them up. Three labourers and Nikki Mohd were injured and were hospitalized. They also went to lodge a report with the police which insisted for compromise.
Later, the family along with all the seven members went to the office of SDM at around 1.30 pm and sat on hunger strike bearing black badges. In the evening the SHO and a Revenue officers went to them and assured inquiry into the matter. Both sides have now lodged counter reports with police.
