The accused in the case are Anil Chopra, son of Deva Singh of Subash Nagar Jammu, Dev Raj, son of Mir Chand of Jhakhar and Sourab Manhas, son of Shamsher Singh of village Barn. A case under FIR No 7/2013 U/s 419, 420, 423, 465, 466, 467, 468 and 120-RPC r/w Section 5(2) PC Act Svt 2006 against them has been registered.
The case was registered after a written complaint in this regard by one Sanjeev Singh Jamwal of Panjgarian Nagrota with the Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu. As per the complain,  Anil Chopra in connivance with other accused persons prepared a fake sale deed in favour of one Kuldeep Singh and got the same registered before Sub-Registrar Jammu  by affixing the photograph of some unknown person and thereafter replacing the same with photographs of the complainant.
During the investigation, it was found that the complainant being the Attorney holder of the original owners of the land had met the accused Anil Chopra in connection with sale of land measuring 10 kanal and in the process, handed over the power of Attorney in the name of complainant, his photographs and copy of PRC for preparation of sale documents. Even as  this deal did  not mature, the accused  got registered a fake sale  deed in the name of Kuldeep Singh and manipulated the photographs. Investigations established that the seal of the court on the sale deed was found affixed on one photograph whereas on the other photograph, the impression of the court seal was found missing because of pasting of some other photograph. Sourab Manhas had identified the unknown person and Anil Chopra and thus named as accused in the case.
