JAMMU, Mar 17: Cyber Police Jammu with the assistance of Rajasthan Police busted a gang of fraudsters offering fake online to and fro helicopter tickets to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims through fake websites created and floated by these fraudsters on Google.
During the raid, Cyber Police Jammu team succeeded in nabbing 4 fraudsters including the kingpin.
Cyber Police Jammu after receiving cyber fraud complaint from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Helicopter Service providers of Shrine Board and complainants from Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims regarding fake online sites and helicopter ticket fraudsters who were duping innocent pilgrims claiming for providing online helicopter tickets and looting hard earned money from them.
Acting over the complaints, Cyber Police Jammu immediately lodged FIR and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, technical team of Cyber Police Station obtained information from the domain providers GoDaddy about these fake websites of Mata Vaishno Shrine. Based on the analysis of IP, domain registration details as well as other details of around 40 such fake websites, the technical team zeroed in the common IP user and find out the whereabouts of these fraudsters and also found these fraudsters were operating from Kota Rajasthan.
Based on the leads, a team of 3 Inspectors namely Inspector Vikram Sharma, Inspector Javid and Inspector Gagandeep Singh alongwith officials was constituted by SP Cyber Jammu Naresh Singh and was sent to Rajasthan to arrest these fraudsters.
Cyber Police team with the cooperation of Rajasthan Police succeeded in arresting 4 fraudsters’ alongwith kingpin who were involved in creating these fake websites. Theses fraudsters were identified as Sunil Chawla, son of Gopichand, a resident of Kota, Deepak, son of Parmanand, Gajanand, son of Duli chand and Monu Pankaj, son of Amritlal, resident of Kota, Rajasthan.
Cyber Police team also seized incriminating material from them and after obtaining transit remand, brought them to Jammu for further investigation into the case.
