UDHAMPUR, July 19: KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital here in collaboration with Rotary Club Udhampur organized a free eye screening camp at PHC Latti to provide ‘gift of sight’ to the poor patients of far flung areas.
About 305 patients suffering from different eye ailments were examined by the medical team of the hospital out of which 66 patients were identified for cataract surgeries.
Earlier a batch of 16 patients was operated by Dr Sumeru Raina and today the second batch of 20 patients after follow up was discharged from the hospital.
All the operated 32 patients were provided free pre-operative investigations, post-operative medicines including glasses.
D.N Sharma, Chairman of Rotary Eye Hospital along with operated patients and their attendants were also present on the occasion.
Awareness was also given to the patients about eye-care after surgery so that better vision is maintained in them in future.
Chairman Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur, D.N Sharma assured more such camps in rural areas of Udhampur till the entire district becomes avoidable blindness free.
