JAMMU, July 19: An awareness campaign and practical demonstration regarding Solid Waste Management was held by members of SWM team of JMC at Janipur Colony (Near Government Quarters), Ward No-37, here.
The deputed team of JMC gave a detailed lecture about the Solid Waste Management.
JMC advised the residents for not using polythene carry bags. They asked them to use jute/cloth carry bags, besides planting trees for their surroundings.
They told people as to how to prepare compost from organic waste of the homes, who carefully listened and pledged to take up such fruitful case in homes as well as surroundings.
People were shown containers of Blue and Green colour to collect organic and inorganic waste of their home in separate manner. The initiative was taken by the team of JMC to change the behavior of the people.
The programme was attended by Ashwani Kumar and Ved Pal Sharma, besides the other members of JMC team, who installed the banners and posters.
