JAMMU, Jan 1: Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo said that the global tenders for extraction of sapphire from famous sapphire mines of Padder tehsil in Kishtwar district have already been floated, adding that the extraction of the sapphire from these mines will star shortly.
While addressing the gathering of eminent personalities, Buddhist scholars & students at Jammu in a function organised by Buddhist Youth Association Padder to celebrate Losar, Mr. Kichloo said that peace is imperative for the development and growth of a society adding that the religions preache peace, communal harmony and brotherhood. He said that all those people who follow the religious practices in their lives in one way or other do not support the agenda of those people who promote hatred and violence among the people. He said that the people of State are pure secular and have always rejected fanatism and communism.
Mr. Kichloo said that extraction of sapphire will give job opportunities to the local inhabitants of Padder. He said that Omar led Coalition Government is committed for the overall development of backward areas of the State including Padder. He said that necessary steps have already been initiated by the Government to expedite the pace of construction work on 32 KM Gulabgard-Machail road and added that all the hiccups coming in the way of construction of this prestigious road project has been removed. He said that his efforts are on towards granting Naibat status to Machail Padder.
He said that the thrust of the Government is towards tackling the problem of unemployment and said that the process of construction of Karthi power project in Padder has already set into motion and added that with the construction of Karthi power project, not only local unemployed youths of Padder will get job opportunities, but youth of Kishtwar district as well get job opportunities at large. He said that establishment of Degree College at Padder is also under consideration of the State Government and added that the priority will be given to Padder at the time of opening of new colleges in the State.
He also hails the efforts of Buddhist community in maintaining the peace and communal harmony in Padder. He cautioned the people of Padder about the nefarious designs of the communal forces who want to divide the people on the name of religions. He asked the people of Kishtwar district to remain united so as to defeat the communal forces who are hell bend to hoodwink the peace and development process in State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kichloo also donated Rs. 25000 to Buddhist Youth Club of Padder out of his salary.
