Expert Panel to begin Kashmir hospitals visit from Aug 7

SRINAGAR, July 27: A 5-day visit of the Expert Committee formed on the directions of the High Court is all set to commence from August-7 during which the Panel will visit hospitals across Kashmir division to assess the availability of the healthcare facilities.
During the visit, the Committee will be examining the healthcare facilities available in terms of infrastructure, human resources and equipment in various healthcare facilities in Kashmir valley.
The expert panel will also look into the facilities available with various departments in the hospitals across the Valley. The Panel has also been tasked to look for the shortcomings, if any, and make recommendations for fulfilling the same.
In this regard, the Directorate of Health Services has nominated nodal officers to facilitate the visit of the Panel and provide the necessary support.
“In view of the five days visit of the team constituted by the High Court of J&K starting from 7th August 2021…Dr Syed Manzoor Qadri, Assistant Director, Health Services, Kashmir & Dr Talat Jabeen, Epidemiologist, Kashmir are hereby nominated as Liaison Officers/ Nodal Officers for the visiting team who shall also be assisted by Ajaz Rasool, NMS of this office,” read an order issued here by the DHSK.
In this regard, Dr Talat Jabeen has been tasked to arrange boarding, lodging, transport and refreshment for the visiting team during their five-day visit to Kashmir for which, the order stated, the Administrative Department has already conveyed approval.
It is to be noted here that two committees, one each for Jammu and Kashmir, were formed by the J&K High Court.
The committee which will visit the Kashmir hospitals comprises Dr Yogesh Chawla, Retired Director PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr Ravi Gupta, Medical Superintendent Govt. Medical College and Hospital Sector 32, Chandigarh, Dr Kaisar Ahmed, ex. Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar, Dr Showket Zargar, Retired Director, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Director, Health Services, Srinagar and Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar.
Notably, Dr Yogesh Chawla will be heading both the Committees formed on the directions of the High Court while the Directors of Health Services, Kashmir and Jammu, have been tasked to work as the Member Secretary of the Committees.
