Expert meet of CSTT concludes

JAMMU, Jan 17: A five day expert meet organized by the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi here at the Department of Botany, University of Jammu, concluded today.
During the meet, several meaningful Dogri terms related to Botany including plant kingdom, taxonomic literature, vegetative and floral morphology of plants, ecology, etc were evolved, created and incorporated in the Glossary of Botany in Dogri. Besides, several already existing terms, which otherwise were not in practice, were also adopted for inclusion in the Glossary of Botany.
Speaking during the concluding session, Dr Dharminder Kumar, Assistant Director, CSTT, MHRD, New Delhi, expressed his satisfaction on the progress made in evolving and exploring novel terminology in Dogri for Botany subject.
Prominent experts who participated in the meet were OP Sharma Vidyarthi (IFS), Prof SK Gupta (SKUAST-Jammu), Joginder Chattrapal (Dogri language expert), Prof Romesh Atri (GDC Boys Udhampur) and Prof Yash Pal Sharma (Head, Department of Botany, JU).
