JAMMU, Apr 30: Ration Dealers Association (RDA) of Jammu City has urged upon the higher authorities in the CAPD Department to exempt rationees to use POS system of ration by applying thumb on the machine in view of massive risk to their lives due to Corona.
In a press statement issued here Prabhu Dayal, president of the Association alleged that some officials in the lower and middle rung were forcing dealers to use POS system for distribution of ration/ food grains to the PHH/BPL category people. He said when all the offices have stopped biometric attendance of the employees due to spread of Corona, the CAPD officials were forcing the dealers to use POS system. He said the beneficiaries even are not prepared to go through this system due to fear of this pandemic.
He demanded that Government must stop this process till the situation improves. Even last year also, the Govt had exempted the beneficiaries from using this system. He sought intervention of Commissioner/ Secretary concerned and the Chief Secretary into the matter.
