Excited for my second innings in India: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

MUMBAI, Aug 8:  Noted Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who has delivered many Bollywood hits, says he is excited to begin his second innings in the industry.
The music maestro has given superhit songs like — “Lagan Lagi Tumse Mann Ki Lagan”, “Bol Na Halke Halke”, “Main Jahan Rahun”, “O Re Piya”, “Ajj Din Chadheya”, among others.
Rahat, who was detained in India in 2011 for possessing foreign currency, had said he would come back to India if “respectfully invited.”
Though the singer is returning to India after a gap of four-and-a-half years but his songs like “Tera Deedar Hua”, “Saaiyaan”, “Dagabaaz Re” and “Mere Naina Kafir Hogaye” have been a hit with the listeners here.
“It is always been a pleasure to come back to my second home, which has given me so much love, and success.
“Four years plus is a very long time and I am happy that I have addressed some pending legal matters with the relevant authority and excited to have my second innings with the industry,” Rahat said in a statement here.
His latest work “Back to Love” has already achieved the highest selling non-film album status in India.
“Back to Love” peaked at number one place on both, the iTunes India pop charts and Nokia music charts, which is usually dominated by Bollywood sound tracks.
It was at number three on the day of release and is currently at 50 million views on YouTube, it said.
Salman Ahmed, who has been instrumental in producing the “Back to Love”, said, “He is keen to continue his successful journey with Bollywood and is looking forward to working with his friends in the Indian film industry on bigger and more exciting projects.” (PTI)
