SRINAGAR, Aug 17: Following complaints of manufacturing of illicit liquor in the area, raids were conducted by Excise and Taxation Officer, Central Kashmir at brick kilns of Nowbug, Chadoora, Budgam.
Range Inspectors of three districts and other field officials conducted the raids under the directions of Excise Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma and the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner, Executive, Kashmir, Tazayun Mukhtar.
During raids, 150 litres of Lahan , 2 litres of illicit liquor and 20 kgs of Gur were found in isolated areas .The consignments was destroyed instantly and temporary structures were frisked in the area for any more recoveries. The shopkeepers and Brick kiln owners were warned to desist from procurement of Gur used for manufacturing of Lahan.
