Excise Dept imposes fine on tax evaders

Jammu, Dec 26: The officials of Excise Department laid four surprise nakas on various places on the National Highway and an amount of Rs 75,980 was imposed as fine on the tax evaders and smugglers of illicit liquor, today.
The naka was laid by the Excise teams headed by ETOs, Nayeem Mughal and Yudhvir Padha on Jammu-Kathua stretch of National Highway at Manwal and on  Banihal stretch of National Highway at Ramban.
Excise Department has re-energized and activated the eradication and Enforcement Wing, Jammu to act as flying squad to take action, as provided under law, on any complaint regarding violation of Excise Law.
