Excise Department conducts series of raids

KATHUA, Mar 22: The Excise Department Kathua conducted a series of raids across Kathua district in which more than 700 Kgs of lahan, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health were recovered by the raiding team from the State land and later destroyed on spot.
The multiple raids have been carried out by the Excise Department officials on the direction of Excise Commissioner, Mohd. Javed Khan and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu  Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team  led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta along with Inspector Excise Arun Kumar & Excise staff raided the Jaraie, Tarf Sanji & Chhiba Chak areas of Kathua  district to check the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process more than 700 kilograms of lahan was recovered by the raiding team from State land and later destroyed on spot.
