JAMMU, July 24: Shiv Sena Bal Thackray has said that helicopter services for annual Machail Yatra are charging exorbitant and irrational from the pilgrims.
In a press conference here today Shiv Sena working president, Ashwani Gupta said, the company is charging Rs. 2270 for one person up to 80 kg of weight and additional Rs 150 per kg while a child having weight of 4-5 kg has to pay full Rs. 2270.
“Why the children are not charged as per their weight,” asked Gupta requesting the administration to look into the matter and get the alleged loot stopped.
He also said that Shiv Sena will not allow anyone to loot Hindu temples or pilgrimage places.
“We appeal to the Divisional Commissioner to stop this over charging,” they said adding that the administration should provide other facilities also to the annual Machail Yatra like food, medical aid, accommodation to pilgrims etc.
Rajan Gupta and Rajiv Bandahri, both Shiv Sena Senior Vice Presidents; Nathpal Chodhery, Vice President; Rakesh Kak, General Secretary; Vikas Dewan, Romesh Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar, Varun Gupta, Pawan Kumar, Ajay Gupta and Ajit Kumar were also present in the press conference.
