Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, July 24: Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank, Janak Raj Angural during the review meeting of Samba and Kathua branches of the Bank, handed over PMJJBY & PMSBY claim amounting to Rs. 4 lakh to the nominee Madhu Bala of village Parnanan, Kathua. He said the Bank is making extraordinary efforts to make the national programme of social security schemes a real success. Speaking on the occasion, Angural apprised that most of the beneficiaries of these schemes belong to unorganized sector like factory workers, hawkers and rural agricultural labour etc. He informed that the Bank has so far settled a total claim amount of Rs. 1.36 crore. D.K Bali, General Manager, Grameen Bank, while speaking on the occasion said the Bank will make all possible efforts to ensure that each and every family of the State is covered under financial inclusion initiative, thereby leading them to the path of development and prosperity. He also highlighted the benefits of digital banking and cashless economy. Devi Dayal Gupta, Chief (I&V Section), Grameen Bank also spoke on the occasion and talked about the importance of these schemes and impressed upon Branch Heads to make serious efforts for effective penetration under these schemes in their respective branches. Amit Laira, Regional Manager (Kathua), Grameen Bank said there are a huge number of PMJDY accounts with zero balance which acts as an impediment towards the mission of 100 per cent financial inclusion so impressed upon Branch Heads (BH) to get these people enrolled into financial system for their further benefit. Narinder Singh, BH Kathua, Grameen Bank, while talking at length regarding the benefits of social security schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti BimaYojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
