UDHAMPUR, Apr 28: A veteran’s rally was organised at Samote by Rashtriya Rifles battalion under the aegis of Reasi based Force Headquarters for the Ex-servicemen, Veernari’s, War Widows and their dependents.
Lt Gen K H Singh, GOC White Knight Corps was the Chief guest for the event. Speaking on the occasion Corps Commander highlighted that the event will provide a composite platform to the Ex-servicemen, Veer Nari’s and War Widows residing in Rajouri, Reasi and Ramban areas to redress their wide ranging issues.
The Ex-servicemen rally primarily aimed at addressing the grievances of pension related issues and also provide them an opportunity to interact with civil administration officials, police and bank officials. Pension office officials from Allahabad who deals with Army pensioners rendered on the sport advice and assistance in resolving the grievances.
A total of 41 various stalls were established at the rally site. The stalls included PCDA Allahabad, JAK LI Records etc besides many stalls established by Civil/Govt administration officials. Lt Gen K H Singh felicitated 31 War Widows. A total of 2750 ex-servicemen, Veernari’s and their dependants attended the rally.
A Medical Camp was held for those who attended the camp. A cultural programme, dog show and Band display were other highlights of the rally.
